EMOTIONAL ALPHABET

Inspired by the vast amount of visual information that surrounds us; the artist set out to collect, intervene and recontextualise images; using them as raw material for the construction of her drawings. Each piece is the result of an accumulation of elements selected from different visual sources. During the first part of the creative process, the artist randomly selected images, which were then combined to generate a new relationship between them before setting out to create each drawing.

In the end, Catalina catalogued each piece with the name of a feeling or an emotional state, using the different letters of the alphabet as a classification system. For each letter of the alphabet, a Word. For each word, a Definition. For every definition, an Emotion. For every emotion a Drawing.
