BITTER SWEET
These works were made specifically for a collective exhibition, entitled “Languages on Paper”, commissioned by El Museo gallery. The exhibition, like its title, suggests, bring up the reflection about the paper role in the artmaking process, addressing a new approach which establishes paper is more than a support for the artwork, it becomes a conceptual and plastic element.
I used cardboard packaging, paper clips, paper folders and recycled aluminum foil from “Kisses” chocolate packaging. He wanted these materials to be the conceptual axis of the proposal and to develop works that related to the subject of food, in particular, the relationship between foods with high sugar content and depressive moods. Sweets produce a metabolic reaction that generates comfort and joy.
